Report: “Analytic solution of the problem of diffraction of elastic waves on three-dimensional diffuser”

Abstract
Analytical formulas for solving the problem of diffraction of elastic waves on a flat three-dimensional polygon-shaped diffusor are deduced on the basis of the heuristic approach. At first by the well known methods the problem of electromagnetic wave diffraction on the diffusor of similar shape is solved. Then the diffraction coefficients of the electromagnetic wave diffraction coefficients are replaced by the elastic wave. Comparison of the analytical calculation formulas derived for the case of a symmetrical arrangement of the source and the receivers relative to the elastic wave diffusor and showed good agreement with the results of the verification of the numerical calculation. If necessary, synthesis can be carried out in case of formulas asymmetric arrangement of the source and receiver, as well as more complicated shape of a diffusor. The results can be used to solve the problem of diffraction geophysical seismic waves, the ultrasonic flaw detection, and the like, as well as the study of wave fields different physical nature than the electromagnetic and acoustic waves .
